Stabenow Gets Award

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow received the Michigan Snowmobile Association’s Award of Appreciation for her commitment to the Recreational Trails Program.  Delegates from the organization personally presented the award to Sen. Stabenow; a captioned photo of the presentation is available by clicking here.

“I’m proud to partner with the Michigan Snowmobile Association,” said Sen. Stabenow.  “Our recreational trails are part of our Michigan way of life, and I will keep working to make sure they remain available for everyone’s use.”

Michigan has over 6,000 miles of snowmobile trails and over 3,000 miles of off-road vehicle (ORV) trails.  The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Recreational Trails Program supports the maintenance and development of recreational trails for snowmobiling, hiking, bicycling, riding off-road vehicles and other outdoor activities.
