MSHS Freshman In Essay Contest

A freshman at Marquette Senior High School is getting first-hand experience at what it means to live in a small town and just how powerful words can be.

Ellie Pearson was simply doing her homework assignment recently.

She says she had no idea it would soon be the talk of the school and around town.

Ellie knows what she wants her future to hold — happiness and fun with whatever she’s doing, though she says she couldn’t tell you exactly what that would be.

Her essay has been submitted in a contest to spend a day with Dain Blanton, a 2000 Olympic gold medalist in beach volleyball.

Blanton is a motivational speaker who visited MSHS back in October.
