Phone Scam in the U.P.
Be on the lookout for SCAM phone calls in Upper Michigan.
A warning put out by Superior National Bank & Trust warns that customers are getting fraudulent calls from someone telling them that they are from their bank.
The caller asks them for their account routing number and the account number.
No one from a bank would call a customer for that information, so people are reminded not to give out any account information to callers.
Also, there have been reports of calls from someone who identifies themselves as an IRS agent asking for bank account information to send tax refunds.
Again, do not give out account information.
