Criminal Sexual Conduct Arrest
Troopers from the Michigan State Police – Stephenson Detachment – arrested 24 year old Jonathon David Lyons of Daggett for 3rd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. Lyons was arraigned on March 5th at the 95th District Court of Menominee County. His bond was set at $5,000.
The arrest was made after detectives received information regarding a Facebook chat revealing that Lyons may have had sexual contact with a minor. A computer was seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case is being reviewed by the Menominee County Prosecutor and additional charges may be forthcoming. A detective from the MSP Calumet post assisted with the investigation.
3rd Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Persons convicted are required to register as sex offenders.
