U.P. Special Education Conference

The Upper Peninsula Special Education Conference kicked off today on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

Teachers and other educators from across the U.P. participated in a variety of workshops and skill-building exercises.

The conference also includes speakers to help inspire, motivate and teach the attendees.

Andrew Claes of the Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District says part of the teaching involves learning about how Michigan laws regarding special education have changed recently to conform better to federal law.

The Special Education Conference will continue through tomorrow.
