Prelim Exam for Backroom Obsessions Owner

An Upper Michigan businessman was in Marquette County District Court on felony drug charges.

Michael Jestila of Houghton was arrested last month.

He’s facing a two-count felony warrant authorized by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.

Jestila is the owner of the Backroom Obsessions stores in Marquette and Houghton.

He’s been charged with two counts of delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance.

The felonies are punishable by up to seven years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.

The charges stem from a joint investigation by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the Marquette City Police.

Jestila is being held on $100,000 cash bond.

He had a preliminary exam late this afternoon in Marquette County District Court.
