Gogebic County Salvage Yard Theft

A traffic violation early this morning led to an arrest in Gogebic County.

The suspect is a 29-year-old man from Gile, Wisconsin.

He was pulled over for an equipment violation at Old County Road and Puritan Road in Bessemer Township.

A state trooper from the Wakefield Post noticed that the driver had a seven-foot-long piece of steel tubing sticking out of a broken window on his vehicle.

Police determined that the man had stolen items from a local salvage yard.

The suspect was arrested for larceny of property worth $200 to $1,000, which is a one-year felony.

He’s in the Gogebic County Jail awaiting arraignment.
