Ishpeming School Board Talks Changes

The Ishpeming Board of Education is making plans to discuss the possible addition of a full day of school for kindergarten students and what that would mean for the district.

At a regular scheduled board meeting tonight the group briefly touched on budget issues and what it would mean to add more teachers and extra classrooms without any extra funding. A special meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday February 22nd to further discuss the options.

The board also held a public hearing tonight on the adoption of a new bullying policy. The outline is a standard guideline available to all school districts, however improvements and specifics can be added by each individual district. The board will vote on the policy at its March meeting.
