Upper Michigan had a taste of winter weather this morning.

Snowfall overnight created slippery roads, icy conditions and waves crashing over the Marquette harbor breakwall.

Strong winds also blew the snow around, making for poor visibility at times.

The National Weather Service measured 5.4 inches of total snowfall at their station in Negaunee Township this morning.

Most areas in the Keweenaw received about three inches.
