Ashley Dawn Elvetici faces two federal bank robbery charges in Ohio.

A Negaunee woman was in federal court in Ohio today, a week after she was arrested on bank robbery charges.

21 year old Ashley Elvetici is now charged in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio with the federal crime of bank robbery. She made an initial appearance on the charges today.

According to an official with the FBI Northwest Ohio Violent Crime Task Force, Elvetici is seen in these bank surveillance photos at a Toledo area bank February 1st. She allegedly passed the teller a note demanding money shortly after nine last Wednesday morning. She was arrested at an area motel later that same day.

Elvetici is also charged with robbing another Toledo area bank January 26.

Police say witnesses reported that she wore the same long black wig and UGG-style boots in both incidents. A weapon was not seen in either of the robberies. Police are not saying how much money was taken.

Bank robbery is a federal offense because banks are federally insured. The crime carries a possible penalty of up to 20 years in prison for an unarmed bank robbery.
