Delta County Child Sexual Assault
A Bark River man is in custody for sexually assaulting a young girl.
State Police from the Gladstone Post say he’s 20-year-old Alec Jeffery Vanenkevort.
An underage girl told troopers yesterday at OSF St. Francis Hospital that she’d been sexually assaulted.
In the early hours of this morning, police found Vanenkevort along with evidence that led to his arrest.
He’s charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which is a 15-year felony.
Vanenkevort is being held on $25,000 bond.
The Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Escanaba Public Safety helped in the investigation.
