Ishpeming Ski Jump Preparation

The Ishpeming Ski Club will host its 125th annual ski jumping tournament a week from tonight.

But before the skiers are cleared to take off, there’s plenty of work to be done.

The club is hard at work making sure the 90–meter hill will be ready for competition.

Luckily, Mother Nature has pitched in and provided some much-needed snow.

Club president Tom Petersen says that with knowledge of speed and angles, the crew is able to set the course up exactly how the racers like it.

The fun begins next Wednesday at 6 pm at Suicide Hill.

A fireworks display will follow the competition at about 8 pm.
