Operation Action U.P. Awards
Three businesses that operate in the U.P. are recognized for helping maintain the area’s economic viability.
Operation Action U.P. gave out its annual Excellence Awards this morning on the NMU campus in Marquette.
Western Lime’s Schoolcraft County plant in Gulliver, Potlatch’s sawmill at K.I. Sawyer and Basic Marine of Escanaba are this year’s winners.
The day also included a presentation from the Environmental Protection Agency’s regional director and a discussion about the future of mining in the Upper Peninsula.
