Ishpeming VFW Post gets $8K donation
The VFW Post 4573 in Ishpeming recently received an $8,000 donation from Cliffs Natural Resources to help the post replace the roof on the VFW hall.
The old roof on the VFW hall had deteriorated causing several leaks. Total cost for the roof repair was $16,000 with the Cliffs donation covering half of the cost.
“It means a great deal to me and all the members of the post,” said Rodney Koivula, Quarter Master, VFW Post 4573. “We have quite a few bills and the donation from Cliffs really helps out. It’s wonderful and we really appreciate it.”
“The VFW provides a much needed service to veterans and the communities in which they live,” said Jennifer Huetter, Cliffs’ district manager, public affairs in Michigan. “Cliffs is pleased to provide this support.”
