Military Mom Surprises Daughters

One well known fast food chain was serving up more than chicken this week. For one lucky military family a heartwarming reunion was also on the menu.

Captain Cherissa Jackson surprised her twin daughters who thought they were headed to Kentucky Fried Chicken to help assemble gift packages.

Jackson is an Air Force Critical Care Nurse who has been deployed in

Afghanistan since June.

Inspired by the National “Joining Forces Program” KFC also presented the sisters each with a $20,000 college scholarship.

The donation was especially meaningful for Jackson, a single mom who said one reason she joined the military more than 20 years ago was so her parents wouldn’t have to pay for her college education.
