Hancock Police Nab Burglary Suspect

An early morning burglary attempt Will have a Hancock man in court this morning. Houghton County Prosecutor Michael Makinen issued a warrant charging Christopher Revoir, age 28, of Hancock with one count of Home Invastion 3rd Degree, a felony punishable up to five years. A magistrate set a temporary bond of $2,000.00 and Mr. Revoir was able to post the bond. Revoir will face a formal arraignment in the 97th District Ct. on Friday morning.

He was arrested early Thursday after a break-in at a Hancock home. About 2 a.m. Thursday, Hancock Police were dispatched to a report of a subject attempting to break into a residence on Cooper Ave. The resident of the house heard a noise and, upon investigating the sound, discovered a male subject attempting to open the back door. According to police, the resident of the house “hollered at the intruder and the subject ran.”

The suspect had apparently cut a screen on a storm door, lifted up the window and had gained entrance into an enclosed porch. The suspect was attempting to open the door between the porch and main residence when the homeowner scared him away.

Officers were able to locate the suspect walking in the area and he was taken into custody.
