Stonington Fire Visible Across the Bay
A two-building structure fire in Stonington could be seen as far away as the Escanaba area this morning.
Crews from the Masonville Township Fire Department responded to the scene just after 5 am.
It took six hours and 52,000 gallons of water to get the fire under control.
Firefighters say they were hindered by a lack of a water supply, high winds and the wood materials inside the buildings.
No one was injured in the fire.
The cause is still under investigation.
The Ensign Township and Brampton Township Fire Departments also assisted at the scene.
