Power Line Safety
During lunch at the collective bargaining workshop, the students got a special safety refresher course from the Marquette Board of Light and Power.
The students were given reminders of how to deal with power lines in scenarios such as a downed wire that may have occurred during a car-versus-light-post accident.
Paul Kitti of the Marquette BLP says they were also given a first-hand look at what tools and safety measures the linemen use.
A variety of courses in the journeyman electrical lineman program are available at Northern Michigan University.
