Collective Bargaining Workshop

Area high school students got a lesson in what goes on during collective bargaining between unions and management in Marquette today.

Students were put into groups to get first-hand experience in trying to work through a contract between management and unions.

Larry Linna of the U.P. Labor Management Council and Marquette Senior High School student Carrie Perry both say the lessons from the bargaining table can be used later in life, such as learning the value of compromise.

The lesson today was another way of providing real-world experience for students at the high school.
