Mining Journal Cheer Club Donations Strong

Even in a tough economy, donations have been steady as families, clubs and groups donate toys to the Mining Journal’s Cheer Club.

The newspaper’s 33rd annual toy drive is well underway.

Publisher and general manager Jim Reevs says the Mining Journal’s offices in downtown Marquette are a donation point for people to give a little something back to the less fortunate.

The Cheer Club takes donations of toys, books, clothing and more.

Any family in need that requests toys for children will be put on the list.

Items collected will be distributed by the Salvation Army in Marquette and Ishpeming.
