Give the Gift of Reading

As we move into the holiday season, two U.P. counties are asking for the public’s help to provide a gift that keeps on giving.

The Marquette–Alger Reading Council’s Gift of Reading program is in full swing.

The program is in its 24th year.

Donna Campbell is the librarian at Cherry Creek Elementary School in Chocolay Township.

She says the books are distributed throughout the year to families, as well as other youth service and other local agencies.

The Gift of Reading program has collected and distributed more than 30,000 books over the years.

The last day for donations is December 5th.
