Attempted Child AbductioN: Man in Custody
A 40 year man is being charged with attempted kidnapping and enticing a child for immoral purposes. The Munising City Police Department were notified of the incident at 4:10 pm Wednesday.
The male subject attempted to entice a 12 year old girl into getting into his vehicle. Police say the girl became scared and ran home to tell her parents who then contacted the police.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police -Munising Detachment located the suspect driving near Seney. The suspect was detained and taken back to Munising.
The suspect is a native of Morocco but has dual citizenship in both Morocco and Canada.
The suspect’s name has not been released at this time and he is awaiting arraignment in 93th District Court in Munising.
