Sawyer Power Outage Planned
A planned power outage will occur at Sawyer next week. The Upper Peninsula Power Company says the planned electric outage for customers residing and doing business in the Sawyer area is to improve service reliability.
About 1,500 UPPCO customers who live in this area will experience a three-hour power outage beginning at midnight Thursday, November 10, until 3 AM Friday, November 11.
UPPCO will be putting a mobile transformer in service to perform necessary maintenance. Customers who live or do business in the residential and business areas of Sawyer will be affected.
A secondary outage will be required within the next few weeks to put the transformer back into service.
