Area emergency agencies will be better equipped to respond to bomb disasters. About 30 representatives of community health and emergency response agencies are taking part in a two-day training event at Michigan Tech.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency is conducting response simulations and other training activities in the Memorial Union Ballroom through today.

Participating in the event is Portage Health, Aspirus Keweenaw, Aspirus Ontonagon, Mercy and Bay Ambulance, the Western UP District Health Department, and other area responders.
