Soo Man Imprisoned for Child Sexual Abuse

A Sault Ste. Marie man has been sentenced to five months in prison for sexual abuse of a minor.

U.S. Attorney Donald Davis says 19-year-old Joshua Ronald Ferra will serve five months in federal prison, along with five years of supervised release following his prison term.

On August 4th, Ferra pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor.

The charges stem from an incident that took place in May involving a 13-year-old girl who is a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.

Ferra is ordered not to have any further contact with the victim and must register as a sex offender.
