MAPS Receives Bond Proposal Update and Two Foundation Grant Recipients are Recognized

The Marquette Area Public School’s Board of Education met for a final time tonight before their 1.5 mill bond proposal hits the November ballot.

The board members were briefly updated on the bond proposal by Superintendent Deborah Veight.

If the bond is approved it will bring just over 29 million into the school district.

Board President Tony Retaskie as well as the other school board members have been striving to educate the public and make sure they know the facts before the vote on November 8th.

You can find that information on their website at www.mapsnet.org

The board also recognized two Marquette area public schools education foundation grant recipients.

Marsha Page a teacher at Sandy Knoll received a $1000 grant that went towards a Building Community Through Songs and Stories Program and Fran Darling received a $1000 for Live Scribe Smart Pens.
