Notre Dame joins Hockey East
The University of Notre Dame announced today that its hockey program will join the “Hockey East” conference, starting in the 2013-14 hockey season.
With the addition of Notre Dame, the Hockey East conference will have 11 members. The Irish turned down an offer to join the National Collegiate Hockey Conference to join Hockey East.
With all of the realignment in college hockey this off-season, in 2013-14, 31% of the Division 1 hockey teams will have changed conferences.
