2011 Copper Country CROP

The 2011 Copper Country CROP walk is Sunday. The walk will begin at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock. It’s an effort to raise money to fight poverty both here and abroad.

Coordinator Louisa Wills says there are many ways you can get involved.

25-Percent of all money raised stays right here in the Copper Country helping out organizations like SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL, THE SALVATION ARMY, C-L-K FOOD PANTRY, and many others.

But money isn’t all that is needed. There’s a shortage at area food banks so CROP Walk organizers are asking for a little extra help this year.

Registration begins at 1:30 P-M. Walkers will make their way to Good Shepherd in Houghton and back.
