Stabenow Challenger Visits U.P.

Senator Stabenow is up for re–election in a little over a year, and one challenger has already come forward.

Republican Peter Konetchy is from downstate Roscommon.

He tells ABC 10 he’s focused on a number of national issues, but on the front burner is improving the educational process across the country.

Konetchy wants to remove the federal government from public education.

He says that if elected, he would propose a voucher program to allow parents to choose private or public schools.

Konetchy is a constitutional conservative.

He’s made two trips to the U.P. in the last month and says he will remain dedicated to Michigan and the U.P. during his campaign and in office.
