Economic developers and local officials gathered today in Marquette to learn what resources are available for improving U.P. communities.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation held a community assistance workshop today.
The workshop was put on with the help of the Marquette Downtown Development Authority.
Nicholas Sekmistrz of the MEDC says information about what grants and tools are available for cities throughout the U.P. is an important part of the day.
Mona Lang of the DDA says first–hand accounts of what has worked, and what has not worked when it comes to developments, is another major component.
Another workshop will be held tomorrow morning, beginning at 8.
It also will be at Upfront and Company and will focus on community development block grants and grant administration.
