PWPL Matching Challenge

An old adage claimed that a book can take you anywhere you want to go.

And that’s especially true for one local man.

His life journey of exploration, travel and adventure began after a trip to the Peter White Public Library as a child.

Now he’s on mission to make sure other children are able to find the same inspiration, and he’s also asking for help.

It’s called the 2011 Allyn Roberts Matching Challenge.

It’s a chance for community members to have any donation they make matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a total $10,000.

The library is faced with the task of raising $160,000 of its budget each year.

Roberts’ passion for the library started many years ago as a child.

He believes it was his experiences at Peter White that helped form him into the person he is today.

Challenge donations can be mailed or dropped off at the library through September 1st.

You can also make a donation over the phone at 228–9510 or online via PayPal by heading here.
