Car vs. House in Ishpeming

A 73-year-old Ishpeming woman was taken to the hospital after she crashed her vehicle into a house.

The incident happened in the mid–afternoon in Ishpeming near Empire and Third Streets.

Police say the woman lost control of her pickup truck on her way home from donating blood.

She crashed into several objects, including a sign, a garage and the front steps of a house.

She also drove through two fences, slamming into a parked car.

The pickup continued into the back of the house at 205 Vine Street, coming to a rest on the back porch.

The woman was taken to Bell Hospital.

An investigation into the incident has begun, but Ishpeming Police say alcohol and drugs are not suspected.

The house had structural damage, but no one was home.

The Ishpeming Fire Department also helped out at the scene.
