Esky Man Imprisoned for Child Pornography

An Escanaba man will spend 5 years in prison for possession of child pornography.

37-year-old Mathew Metor was sentenced today by federal judge E. Allan Edgar.

Metor will also have 10 years of supervised release.

He pleaded guilty in March to one count of possessing child porn.

He told the court he obtained the materials through an Internet file-sharing program.

He downloaded more than 800 images and 100 videos of children.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood.

The nationwide imitative is designed to help protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
