Fire at Former Sara Lee Bakery
A former bakery in Marquette that closed two years ago catches fire this afternoon.
The call came in just after 12:30 this afternoon for the old Sara Lee bakery on Washington Street.
Flames and smoke were coming from an empty garage bay on the south side of the building.
A suppression crew from the Marquette Fire Department was part of an 11-person fire crew on scene.
They located and extinguished the fire within a few minutes.
The fire was discovered by a security person on a routine check of the building.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire is suspicious, and that they are investigating.
