Senior Center Thefts Follow-Up

Manistique Public Safety has released the names of two people arrested for breaking into the Manistique Senior Center.

Both suspects are from Manistique.

22-year-old Melvin Larson is charged with eight felony counts of larceny, breaking and entering and safebreaking.

Both he and 19-year-old Cheryl Boomgard are charged with a misdemeanor count of receiving and concealing stolen property.

Larson’s bond is $50,000.

Boomgard’s is a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.

After a three-week investigation, the two were recently arrested for stealing cash and lottery tickets from the Manistique Senior Center.
