A Houghton County man who shot a friend of his last summer will spend at least the next four years in prison.

38–year old William Andrews of south range could be behind bars for as many as 12 years.

He’ll do two to 10 years for assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and carrying a concealed weapon.

Then he’ll serve a consecutive two–year sentence for using a firearm while attempting to commit great bodily harm less than murder.

Andrews shot Joseph Sweeney during an argument last August at a baseball field.
