Argonics Hiring

It’s been a tough couple of years for the michigan economy.

But with the state unemployment rate at 11%, there’s a positive vibe on the state jobs front.

And in Marquette County, there’s another reason to continue that positive attitude.

One local company’s business is continuing to show strong growth — so much so that it needs a bigger workforce.

Argonics, at the Sawyer Industial Park, is becoming one of the industry’s largest producers of polyurethane products.

And, that means they are taking on more staff to keep up with demand.

Mike Brinker, Argonics’ production manager, says the company is hiring at least 6 new employees, maybe more.

And members of the Sawyer business community like Sawyer International Airport operations manager Scott Erbisch say this will benefit many people in the area since there is a talented, skilled work force to choose from.

Argonics moved to Sawyer from Marquette two years ago.

The company currently employs more than 60 people.

They manufacture parts that are used in a number of industries, including in the mining industry and power plants.

The products are sold locally as well as internationally.
