Rip Current Sensor Update

We have an update for you on a story we first brought you in January.

The inventors of a rip current sensor system for the Marquette waterfront say they’re making progress with their creation.

Earl Senchuk is one of the inventors.

He says he and Mike Rucinski have investigated whether or not their design is innovative enough to be patented.

And apparently, it is.

Senchuk says he and Rucinski are now in phase 2 of testing and research, including development of a newer, much more sensitive sensor.

They expect to have a public demonstration of the new model before the end of April.
