Most of the Upper Peninsula is under a winter weather advisory this morning.

Heavy, wet snow is possible across the central U.P. this morning and continuing into tonight.

The snowfall is expected to total 5 to 8 inches.

Marquette, Baraga, Alger, Iron, Dickinson, Luce, Schoolcraft, Delta and Menominee Counties are all part of the advisory, along with southern Houghton County.

The snow is expected to change to lake effect snow tomorrow.

The advisory from the National Weather Service lasts until 1am Thursday.
