Three U.P. Basketball Players Nominated as All-Americans
The Upper Peninsula has three high school girls\’ basketball players up for the prestigious McDonald All-American team.
Hancock\’s Maria Almquist is joined by Courtney Holsworth of Republic, and Nicole Elmblad of St. Ignace.
Holsworth plays for Ishpeming this season, due to small enrollment at Republic-Michigamme school district.
If any of the three seniors make the team, they\’ll get the opportunity to play in the McDonald\’s All-American game at the United Center in Chicago.
