Credit Union Robbery Suspect Free on Bond

The two delta county men charged with robbing a credit union last week were in federal court this afternoon.

19-year-old Jacob Johnston is charged with felony aiding and abetting armed robbery of a credit union.

He’s free on $5,000 bond.

21-year-old Carl Crane, Jr. faces a felony armed robbery charge.

Crane remains in the Marquette County Jail.

His attorney will ask for further hearings.

The court will wait to hear from the defense attorneys.

The charges are from the armed robbery at the Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union in Rapid River last Wednesday.

They each face up to 25 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine, plus restitution.

More than $13,000 was taken in the robbery.

Most of the money has since been recovered.
