Wolverines Sweep on the Road
CALUMET – The Calumet Wolverines Senior “A” Hockey Club pulled off an improbably GLHL South Division sweep this weekend as they defeated the West Bend Bombers and Fond du Lac Bears both 8-6. Friday’s game against the Bombers the Wolverines were down to just 10 skaters, but Brian Adams had a hat trick and the team scored four second-period goals to win.
Saturday night Jesse Rintala had four points in his season debut as the
Wolverines move to 4-5-2 in GLHL play, 6-5-2 overall.
The loss is the first time the Wolverines have won in Fond du Lac since prior to the 2005-06 season (when accurate stats began to be kept), and just the second regulation home loss for the Bears since the 2006-07 season.
Saturday the Wolverines will return home to play the Vernon Hills Capitals, The puck will drop at 7:30 at the Calumet Colosseum.
