Snow-Clearing Supplies

Local hardware stores have plenty of the winter supplies you’ll need to clear out the fresh snow.

But with some warm temps lately, how are they selling?

Symons True Value Hardware in Ishpeming says they’re doing consistent business, even with the break in the snow.

Travis Allen, an employee at the store, says they usually have just over 100 snowblowers in stock for the season every winter, and they’ve sold nearly 50 so far.

If you’ve never owned a snowblower, or if you have one that’s a few years old, the features on current models will surprise you.

Some of them will even help you keep warm.

Allen says some models include hand-warmers so you don’t even need to wear gloves.

He expects business this weekend to be very strong, especially once most of the snow we should get is done falling.
