Cyber Monday Sales Could Set Records

Retailers are trying to keep the momentum of a busy Black Friday weekend with Cyber Monday deals online.

One retail industry group says this year’s Cyber Monday — the nickname for the Monday after Thanksgiving — could be the biggest online selling day of all time.

Comscore, Inc. says Cyber Monday sales are expected to pass $900 million this year and could reach a billion dollars.

Online sales have never topped that mark on a single day.

Cyber Monday follows a Black Friday weekend that saw higher consumer spending than 2009.

The National Retail Federation says the average shopper this weekend spent $365.

That was up 6.4% from last year.
