Tech Football Ranked 22nd in AFCA Poll

WACO, Texas —The Michigan Tech football has earned a national ranking of 22 according to the latest American Football Coaches Association Division II poll released today. The ranking is the first for the Huskies since 2008 and the highest for Tech since Oct. 11, 2005, when they were 19th.

Michigan Tech has won three straight games and owns a 7-2 record. The Huskies had received votes in several different polls this season, but couldn\’t crack the top 25 until today.

The national rankings have no bearing on NCAA Playoff bids. The NCAA Regional Rankings are the determining factor for postseason berths.

A new NCAA Regional poll is scheduled to be released this afternoon.

Michigan Tech will wrap up its 2010 regular season Saturday (Nov. 13) against arch rival Northern Michigan at Sherman Field.
