Bernero Running Mate Visits Marquette
On the political front, as we edge closer to Election Day, the U.P. is a popular stop for the gubernatorial campaign.
The Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor was here last week.
Today, the Democratic hopeful is visiting.
Brenda Lawrence is democrat Virg Bernero’s choice for a running mate.
Since 2001, she’s been the mayor of downstate Southfield, just outside Detroit.
Lawrence had a campaign stop in Escanaba early this afternoon before heading up US–41 to Marquette.
She’s taking part in a meet–and–greet event at Marquette Democratic Headquarters right now.
