Marquette’s Founders Landing looks a little bit different every day.
And another piece of the redevelopment work there is about to begin.
Last month, the City Commission gave Premeau Construction of Marquette the contract to build a public boardwalk and seawall.
Premeau will start next week.
The two pieces of the project will eventually tie into a new marina at founders landing.
City director of planning and community development Dennis Stachewicz says
Some condominiums are already built, and a hotel is under construction, too, but the shoreline will remain public.
The boardwalk and seawall will cost just under $900,000.
Stachewicz says the money will come from revenue the city’s collected from the condo and hotel construction.
The city is also hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the occasion.
It’ll take place at Founders Landing at 8 tomorrow morning.
