If you live in downtown Ishpeming, you’ll probably lose your water pressure tomorrow while the city does some work underground.
There’s a boil-water advisory in affect from 8am tomorrow until at least 8am Friday.
City DPW foreman Michael Beauchamp says there was a leak downtown in the wintertime, caused by half a dozen broken valves that are about 100 years old.
Public Works has to shut down water pressure nearby to fix the valves and keep something like that from happening again.
There are two affected areas.
One of them is a square, formed by First, Lake, Empire and Euclid Streets.
Michigan Street, everywhere west of Second, will also be affected.
If you have any other questions about the maintenance work, or the boil-water advisory, the DPW says you can call them at 486–9371.
