Arraignment in Fatal Weekend Crash
A 60-year-old woman is charged with negligent homicide in connection with a fatal weekend traffic accident.
Barbara Helberg of Beaver Grove was arraigned this morning.
The charges stem from an accident in Harvey early Saturday morning.
18–year–old Daniel Beck of Harvey died in the accident.
He was heading north on his motorcycle on US-41 just north of the intersection with M-28 when a minivan driven by Helberg pulled into his path.
Chocolay Township Police say the bike hit the minivan as the minivan was turning left into the Holiday gas station.
Helberg was released on a personal recognizance bond.
Her next court date is a preliminary exam on September 1st in Marquette County District Court.
