Gladstone Harbor Point Work Almost Done
Gladstone’s harbor is looking a little different these days — the first part of a big improvement project is almost finished.
The city’s Harbor Point project has been in progress for about a year now.
The first phase was originally slated for completion by July 1st.
But things are going ahead of schedule, so it should be done by mid-June.
The project isn’t costing the city a dime of taxpayer money.
Several different state grants, adding up to $350,000, are covering the cost and serving as matching funds for one another.
If the city can locate funding for phase 2, the work will move from dry land into the water.
Some of the harbor’s old boat slips would be replaced and new slips would be added.
